youtube ads

Commencing today, YouTube will start running ads on small creators’ videos, but won’t pay out because they haven’t reached the minimum subscriber threshold to be enrolled in its Partner Program.

“YouTube has the right to monetize all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program.”

With the new monetization rules, a creator who is not in the partner program “may see ads on some of their videos,” according to an update to the platform’s Terms of Service with no returns.

To be eligible for YouTube’s Partner Program creators must have accrued 4,000 total hours of watch time over the last 12 months and have more than 1,000 subscribers.
