WhatsApp has announced that it is bringing the ability to make voice and video calls to WhatsApp Web. The Feature currently only works on its mobile app. WhatsApp Web has been on multiple occasions accused of lacking most features and always being behind competitor Telegram whose app for desktop comes packed with every feature available on the mobile apps. Now, according to WABetaInfo, call support on WhatsApp Web is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Most likely users in the public beta will get the feature first. According to the report, Whenever there is an incoming call, a small new pop-up window will appear on the screen with actions to accept or decline the call, switch to video, turn off the microphone, and a menu button. WABetaInfo confirms that group voice and video calls are also supported in this update. At a time during the Covid-19 pandemic when video conferencing is a big deal, the update is long overdue.
