So you’ve turned on dark mode for Windows 10 and your homepage, toolbar, settings, and some other pages are now dark, but is that really effective? How often are you on your homepage? Most of the time you’re visiting websites, like right now! You’re still met with a white bright UI. Let’s show you how to ‘fix’ this.

Well with new versions of Google Chrome, you can turn every website dark, this is still an experimental feature called Forced Dark Mode which literally forces a dark theme on any and every website, even if the website doesn’t natively have its own dark mode. The feature can be used on both desktop, Mac and Android.

How to

To be very clear, this “dark mode” strictly affects the look of a website. It does not affect your operating system’s dark mode or the Chrome browser’s own interface. For instance, Techspaceke does not natively offer a dark mode. Our website has a predominantly white theme with black text. But, with Forced Dark Mode, you can see the website and every other website in this case with a dark background and white text.

To enable Forced Dark Mode, make sure you’re on the latest version of Google Chrome and follow these steps:

      1. Enter the following address in your URL bar: chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark, This will bring up a hidden Chrome settings menu and the Force Dark Mode option.
      2. Go the drop-down menu next to Force Dark Mode and select Enabled.
      3. At the bottom, hit the Relaunch button to restart your browser.

Note: In Step 2 above, you’ll see several options in the drop-down menu; they all work similarly, simply switching up the color models available, some will invert images too, you can test them all if you want and choose the most pleasing dark mode to your eyes. It boils down to your personal preference.
